The beginning

Vessels swell and leak
spleen and lymph nodes enlarge
liver tissue dies
clotting and hemorrhages

5-8 days later

high fever
chills
headaches
eye pain
red eyes
flushed face

lower back pains
extreme weakness
severe aches in legs and joints

2-3 days later

Fever drops rapidly
Sweat heavily

Next day

Temp. increase
small red bumps all over body
hands and feet turn bright red and swell
extreme weakness and fatigue

Cases of Dengue Fever can happen any where. There have been cases in North, South, and Central America along as the Carribbean Islands, South East Asia, the Western Pacific Regions and Guam. Dengue Fever is present in over 110 countries. any place that is dry and humid is a good place for Dengue Fever.

History

Each strand of Dengue is more severe than the last.
This tropical disease is in the same family as the West Nile Virus and the Yellow Fever. As well as the St. Louis encephalitis virus, The Japanese encephalitis virus, the Tick –borne encephalitis virus, the Kyasanur forest disease virus, and the Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus.

Prevention

Since there is no cure for Dengue Fever, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) are trying to make one but are so far unsuccessful. They advise people to cover up, wear long pants and shirts. They want you to use bug spray and bed netting. And to empty all sources of standing water that way mosquitoes can not multiply.

Its called break bone fever because of associated muscle and joint pain.
